Plastic Exploding Box
British Rail came to us with a brief to provide an airtight re-useable container to hold a small detonator.
The detonators were to be used by their engineers as an early warning device when work was being undertaken in fog on the lines. Placed on the line up from where the work was being carried out the small detonators would be exploded by any oncoming trains as an early warning device.
Our screw top beaker, taken from our Home products range met the brief once customised by hot foil printing the instructions in order to satisfy the need for it to be re-usable and moulding it in red. Some 15 years on this solution is still in use today.
